Easter is right around the corner! And if you are anything like me, then you have probably spent some time considering what the Easter bunny is bringing your kids in their Easter basket. Maybe you are wanting something different this year, maybe something more educational, or maybe something that is perfect for play. Puzzles

I love doing puzzles with my kids. They are great for developing fine motor and cognitive skills. They are also great for spending individual time with each of my kids, and a perfect activity for quiet time while the baby is sleeping. Our favorite puzzles are floor puzzles and wood puzzles!

Animal Figurines

I am OBSESSED with the Wild Republic animal tubes! We own several and they are some of my kid’s favorite toys. And what makes these even better is that they are PERFECT for easter egg fillers. Most tubes come with between 10-16 animal figurines. We divide those up in eggs between are babies and it works great!

Books

I personally believe that a good quality book is an amazing gift. And luckily, my kids agree. We are always looking for opportunities to grow our family library, and adding in a themed book into our children’s Easter basket is a great way to do that.

I am a sucker for open-ended imaginary play. But I am also a sucker for beautiful, hand-made toys. Crochet animal dolls are the perfect combination of both! Money

Money, but more specifically coins. First, what child doesn’t love having some money of their own? Second, I love the idea of giving children various types. Not only does it expose them to different types of money, it also helps them learn the value of different coins and their value. However, always be cautious with small kids. NO ONE wants to spend easter in the hospital because their toddler swallowed a dime or a penny.
